Obsession Solves is a community platform for sharing treasure hunting tracking sessions. This Content Policy outlines what content is allowed and prohibited on our Service.

This site contains potential hunt spoilers. The purpose of Obsession Solves is to allow treasure hunters to share their search sessions, including partial solutions, near-misses, and complete solves. If you want to avoid spoilers for active hunts, please browse carefully or avoid this site until you've completed your own search.

1. User-Generated Content Disclaimer

Obsession Solves hosts user-generated content. The views, opinions, and information expressed in submissions are those of the individual authors and do not necessarily reflect the official policy or position of Obsession Solves or Obsession Community.

We do not endorse, verify, or guarantee the accuracy of any user-submitted content, including GPS coordinates, descriptions, or claimed discoveries.

2. Allowed Content

✅ What You Can Share

Public land sessions: Tracking sessions on public lands, national forests, BLM land, etc.
Solve attempts: Complete or partial solutions to treasure hunts
Search methodology: Your research process, clue interpretations, and search strategies
Educational content: Information helpful to other treasure hunters
Community tracks: General hiking/exploration sessions you want to share
Photos and waypoints: Images and marked locations from your sessions

3. Prohibited Content

❌ What Is Not Allowed

Trespassing promotion: Content that encourages or documents illegal entry onto private property
Harassment: Targeting, threatening, or harassing other users or individuals
Illegal activity: Content promoting or depicting illegal activities
Personal information: Publishing others' private information without consent (doxxing)
Spam: Repetitive, misleading, or promotional content
Malware: Content designed to harm users or their devices
Violence: Threats of violence or content promoting harm
Hate speech: Content attacking individuals or groups based on protected characteristics

4. Property Rights

Respect property rights. Before sharing a tracking session:

Ensure you had legal access to all locations in your track
Do not share content from private property without the owner's permission
Verify land ownership status before claiming an area as public land
Remove or fuzz coordinates for any locations that might be private property

Content that appears to show trespassing may be rejected or removed without notice.

5. Moderation Process

5.1 Pre-Publication Review

All submissions are reviewed by our moderation team before being published. This typically takes 24-48 hours. We review for:

Compliance with this Content Policy
Potential legal issues (trespassing, harassment, etc.)
Content quality and completeness
Accuracy of category and description

5.2 Approval & Rejection

If your submission is rejected, you will receive a notification with the reason. Common rejection reasons include:

Appears to show private property without permission
Insufficient or misleading information
Low quality data (too few breadcrumbs, incomplete session)
Duplicate submission
Violation of prohibited content rules

5.3 Post-Publication Reports

Users can report published content that violates this policy. Reported content will be reviewed and may be removed if it violates our policies.

6. Reporting Content

To report content that violates this policy:

Click the "Report" button on the solve page
Select the reason for your report
Provide additional details if needed

We review all reports and take appropriate action. You may not receive a response to your report, but we do review them all.

7. Appeals

If your content was removed or your account was suspended and you believe this was in error, you may appeal by contacting us at appeals@obsession.community.

Include:

Your account email
The content or action in question
Why you believe the decision was incorrect

Appeals are reviewed by a different moderator than the original decision-maker.

8. Consequences

Violations of this policy may result in:

Content removal: The offending content will be removed
Warning: You'll receive a warning about the violation
Temporary suspension: Your account may be suspended for a period
Permanent ban: Serious or repeated violations may result in permanent account termination

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Content Policy as needed. Significant changes will be announced on the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
